Hospitality

People of faith are enjoined in both the Old and New Testaments to demonstrate love for God by serving their neighbors. God's Word has a particular and profound concern for displays of compassion extended among the most vulnerable people of society, especially widows, the poor, orphans and strangers. Ministries of hospitality encompass concern and respect for others in our sphere of influence who need a helping hand. At Wesley Church, we open our accessible doors to all God's people, without regard to any circumstance of life. To us, visitors are honored guests who offer us the chance to display with our actions what we believe in our hearts. Caring church members are trained to welcome, guide, support and assist all who enter the church for whatever reasons.

Greeters

Greeters welcome everyone as they enter the church for the 8:45 a.m. Communion Celebration and for the 10:45 a.m. Traditional Celebration on Sunday mornings. Many times, greeters are the first link visitors have with Wesley Church as they walk into the front entrance. Arriving 20 minutes prior to either celebration service, greeters also help folks navigate our building, directing persons to Sunday School classrooms, Caf_ Justice, Hospitality Table and other areas. Greeters are assigned Sunday dates on a rotating schedule. Connect with JoAnne.

Hospitality Table

Hospitality Table hosts sit in the middle of the Atrium, within the semi-round Hospitality Table and greet those looking for information about Wesley Church and its ministries. Information is supplied and at hand at the table so the hosts can assist with sign-ups for ministry activities and events. The hosts arrive 20 minutes prior to whichever Celebration Service they are assigned to and they return to the Hospitality Table for a short time after the service. Hospitality Table Hosts often assist with sign-ups for ministry activities and events. Hosts are needed for both services. Connect with Sharon.

Cafe Justice

The Cafe Justice Team is a ministry of fellowship, offering fairly traded coffee, juice and snacks on Sunday mornings. Team members host the Cafe Justice table area, assist with set-up and clean up. Some members assist with picking up food and supplies from the grocery store. Cafe Justice Team members are needed for both Sunday Celebration Services. Connect with Liz.

Flower Delivery

Members of the flower delivery team deliver the Sunday morning chancel flowers to church members in the local hospitals or to those who live locally and are homebound. Flowers are picked-up after the 10:45 a.m. Celebration Service along with instructions for where to take the flowers. Visiting with the recipient is not required, however often this is an important link to the life of Wesley Church. Connect with Becky.
