YOUTH MINISTRIES

Keep updated by checking out our youth Blog! www.youthatwesley.blogspot.com

Wesley Church has an active youth ministry. Currently, middle and high school youth engage in weekly faith-formation groups on Sunday Mornings from 9:45-10:30 a.m. Both middle school and high school aged students also have the opportunity to weekly for fellowship and monthly for large-group events. United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF) Gatherings happen for High School Students at NeXus on the first and third Sundays of every month from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Middle School Students meet weekly on Wednesdays for The Link from 5:45 PM to 7:15 PM. If you or a member of your family would like to attend one of our groups or get involved in a leadership team please consider this as a personal invitation to come and get acquainted. Please call or e-mail Joe Harvey our Minister to Youth and Young Adults for more information. Joe's email address is joeharvey@rcn.com.

Seasons of the Spirit
Seasons of the Spirit, our middle school education group, uses a lectionary-based curriculum and resource by the same name. Its aim, and ours, is to empower kids to be transformed in Christ as they:

  • explore meaning and mystery in the Bible;
  • celebrate in worship, sacraments, education, and service;
  • engage in ministries of love, justice, and witness;
  • and live in inclusive communities of faith shaped and led by the Holy Spirit.

If you would like to know more about Seasons of the Spirit you can e-mail our Director of Christian Education (DCE), Sue Dietrich at sued@entermail.net.

Way to Live
Way to Live, our high school education program, advocates a set of Christian practices that are crucial to human well-being and that, together, shape a life well lived. By reflecting on and growing stronger in such practices, teens encounter the possibility of a more faithful way of life, one that is both attuned to present-day needs and taught by ancient wisdom. If you would like to know more about Way to Live, you can call our Director of Christian Education (DCE), Sue Dietrich at sued@entermail.net.

UMYF (United Methodist Youth Fellowship) Gatherings:
NeXus, our high school gathering, meets on the first and third Sundays of every month from 6:30 PM to 8:00 p.m. The Link, our middle school gathering meets from 5:45-7:15 p.m. on Wednesday nights. All students from sixth through twelfth grade are encouraged to attend. During the evening, the students eat and talk; play games and sports; sing and celebrate. You don’t need an invitation so just stop by! For more information call or e-mail our Minister to Youth and Young Adults, Joe Harvey.
