Our Ministry Teams are made up of volunteers
dedicated to ministering to our community. Following
is a brief description of some of our current ministry teams.
Teams are grouped into functional categories.
Each Team's focus is described below. Click on the category title
(or the red links on the left side of the screen) to learn more
and to email individual team leaders. Team
leaders can also be contacted through the church office (610.865.5715)

NURTURE
MINISTRIES
Inquirer's Ministry Team: Inquirer's
provides an overview of United Methodism and introduces the mission
and ministry of Wesley Church to visitors and prospective new members.
The team assists with sessions engaging participants in their faith
journey, and enabling them to discover God's call to ministry at
Wesley Church.
Celebration and Music Team: Share
the message of God's grace and love and your talents through music.
We plan the music schedule for Sunday Celebration Services and special
music for Lent, Easter, Advent and Christmas.
Communion Stewards Team: Help
serve communion weekly at Celebration Services and monthly at Traditional
services and at other special services during Holy Week and Advent,
setting up before the service and then clearing the communion table
afterwards.
Lay Pastoral Caregivers Team: Nurture
and support Wesley Church Members when they are homebound, hospitalized,
new parents, or have experienced a loss. Help our members to feel
connected to our faith community.
Education Team: Ministries
include Adult Faith Matters, Library Book Club, Adult Forum and
Sunday Childcare.
Sound and Light Team: Ever
wonder who takes care of seeing that we can hear the Pastor on Sundays?
Our team operates the sound and light board during celebration services.
Congregational Care and Support: Our
focus is to encourage and support the congregation to help everyone
stay connected and involved at Wesley. We will keep in contact with
our members to listen and seek understanding of their concerns and
points of view; thus we will serve as liaison between individuals
and the total ministry.
OUTREACH
MINISTRIES
Health and Welfare
Team: Plan and implement appropriate programs and services
that meet the spiritual, emotional and physical needs of the congregation.
Educate and empower the congregation to make positive lifestyle
changes to improve their overall health and wellness.
Missions in Action Team: Encourages
the members of Wesley Church to put their faith into Action by supporting
local ministries, like New Bethany Ministries, the Food Bank, and
the Interfaith Coalition on Poverty, and to raise money for missions
through Wesley Shopping for Missions, the Crop Walk, and other projects.
WesCare Team: Help
out Wesley Church members who need one time or short term support
for meals, transportation, shopping or errands.
ShareCare: Lehigh
Valley agency provides caregiving for independent elderly or disabled
individuals who need additional personal support: transportation,
respite care, light house-keeping, telephone support, yard work,
shopping, errands, reading and writing.
Social Justice Team: We
look for how God's justice and fairness is at work in our world,
helping Wesley's members learn more about world and national issues
(such as hunger concerns), as well as local service projects in
the community. We learn how a vision of God's compassion can guide
our response to the world around us.
