The mission of the General Commission on United Methodist Men is to assist men to know Jesus Christ, to serve Him, to grow spiritually and seek daily to do his will.
Monthly Gatherings
For 100 minutes on the third Saturday mornings of the month we eat breakfast together in Fellowship Hall and then listen to someone bring concerns and news about community and global missions and ministries. Bring $5 for breakfast, and a friend. Connect with Jeff.
Wednesday Morning Bible Study
We meet at 6:30 a.m. in Fellowship Hall for breakfast and a study period. The men are off to work before 8:00 a.m. Connect with Don F.
Cooking Lunch at New Bethany Ministries
One Wednesday a month is our turn to cook, serve and clean up for more than 100 folks who come to eat at the Soup Kitchen at New Bethany Ministries. Connect with Peter.
Service Projects
We are often asked to prepare food! Church wide pancake breakfast, or spaghetti dinners will find us in the Kitchen. We have improved the security system at New Bethany Ministries. We have organized spring and fall clean up crews for the church grounds. We are open to your suggestions! Connect with Tom H. October Mission Project In partnership with the United Methodist Committee on Relief, Wesley Church will be collecting items for flood buckets to help out those recently affected by hurricanes in the Gulf Coast region of the United States. You can drop-off items the NEXT THREE SUNDAYS (through October 12) at the hospitality table in the atrium or during our regular office hours (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.) during the week. The items DO NOT have to be put together in a bucket and BULK items are welcome! Please pay particular attention to container sizes. They are specific in order for all items to fit in the bucket. FLOOD BUCKET ITEMS 5-gallon bucket with resealable lid Bleach (two 1-quart or one 82 oz. bottle) 5 scouring pads 7 Sponges 1 scrub brush 18 cleaning towels (reusable wipes) Liquid laundry detergent (two 25 oz. or one 50 oz. bottle) 1 household cleaner, 12-16 oz. bottle* Disinfectant dish soap, 16-28 oz. bottle* 50 clothes pins Clothes line (two 50 ft. or one 100 ft.) 5 dust masks 2 pair latex gloves 1 pair work gloves 24-bag roll of heavy-duty trash bags, 33-45 gallon 1 Insect repellant spray, 6-14 oz. can (If aerosol, cans must have protective caps. 1 Air freshener, 8 or 9 oz. can (If aerosol, cans must have protective caps. *All cleaning agents must be liquid and in plastic bottles. No powders. Also, the United Methodist Men, United Methodist Women and the Youth will be packing these items to ship to Mission Central at a churchwide Mission Event on Saturday, October 18 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Please come out, bring the whole family and spend the morning working for Missions! Friday Hiking
We meet in the church parking lot at 9:00 a.m. on Fridays. If you like to walk anywhere from 4 to 8 miles, and end up at a restaurant for lunch, please come to join in the hike! No reservations necessary! Connect with Don S.
