Sunday mornings at 9:45 a.m. starting April 6.
Earth Care for Christians - The environment Team will lead the series, witheach of us taking primary (not exclusive) responsibility for a session. Why should people of faith be concerned about the environment? And how should we do so? What range of public policies are now offered for us to choose from? Can anything really be thrown "away" - and just where do our throwaways end up, after all? How can we be consumers with a conscience? How to take an energy audit of how we live? Facilitated by Clarke Chapman.
Living by Grace: Christian Disciplines and the Good Life, Part II - When we are in right relationship with God, when we put ourselves in a place where God can speak to us, then God can work through us in the world on a daily basis. Indeed, according to Richard J. Foster, "Our work -- our only work--is to place ourselves in the way of Christ and invite Him to work in our lives, individually and collectively." Foster claims that the spiritual disciplines are one way we can do that.
Join Joe Kempfer and Karen Marmaras to explore the spiritual disciplines in an accessible way. Foster organizes the disciplines in thre groups: inward, outward and corporate. This courser (part II of III) will explore the outward disciplines, which include simplicity, solitude, submission and service. Using Foster's work as a launching place, learn how to open yourself to God and to let Him work through you.
