About Wesley Church

Wesley United Methodist Church is a community of just under one thousand members and dozens of active guests who are filled with the love of God for all God’s people and for each other. Though large for a United Methodist local church, the feel of the place is caring, committed and concerned, especially about the struggles and difficulties we all face as human beings.

Ours is a church of People Blessing People, not just doing “church.” We enjoy each others company; we listen respectfully to each others points of view; and where we disagree we choose to accentuate the essentials of faith, hope and love. We are a diverse group in age, income, and ethnic backgrounds. While we mirror our surrounding community in a healthy way, we are always seeking to meet the spiritual and social needs of the whole region.

Located in the heart of the Lehigh Valley in the City of Bethlehem, Wesley Church occupies a building we relocated in 1995. Our doors have been open to many community groups who feel at home in a place that is welcoming and receiving. Our unique atrium setting is a grand place for conversation and socializing while you sip a cup of fair trade coffee and discuss the important issues of faith and life. Our sanctuary is an American-Gothic style with windows that look out onto the world as we sing our hymns and sing with our Ensemble’s piano, guitar and drums; pray our prayers; hear the sermons; and hold out our hands to receive Holy Communion.

As you browse our web site, as you click from place to place, you will get a feel for who we are, what God is doing among us, and where God is leading us to be now and in the future. Our ministries and our missions give us a sense that God is at work in us and we feel God’s presence when we are together and when we are out in the world serving those who need a hand of friendship, a word of hope, and a listening heart.
